Why Choose Alsager Vet Centre?

We aren’t the only vets in Alsager – so why choose us? Find out how we aim to be the best vet for you and your pet.

We understand that choosing a vets can be hard – your pet is a part of your family and you want the very best for them. At the end of the day as Vets, Nurses and Support Staff we all love pets and want to provide them with the very best in veterinary care. So when all vets are promising the same, how to you pick the right vet for you?

We believe it’s the little things that can make a big difference. In keeping with our four key principles of care, experience, communication and respect, we aim to give every patient and client a pleasant experience in practice.

At Alsager Vet Centre, we believe that being part of the community means giving something back to the community, be it fun dog shows, charity work or cake sales. We are a small team at Alsager, which gives you the chance to get to know us and we always like to operate an open door policy. We love nothing more than for our clients and their pets to pop in to say hi whenever you are passing. We are passionate about supporting local charities including the local Alsager Animals in Need and raise funds through various fun ways including running tough mudders and cake sales.

Our entire team pride themselves in providing 1st class care to every pet that comes through the door. We believe that over the years we have created a family feel at Alsager Vet Centre and maybe that’s why our high standard of care has been recognised by some fantastic awards. Two of our staff have been hand-selected from thousands of entrants to be in the running for a Petplan Award (considered the Oscars of the Veterinary world). Liam Grocott made it to the final 3, nominated for Veterinary Support Staff of the Year 2017 and back in 2016 Victoria Smith won Veterinary Receptionist of the Year. We have also just received an Outstanding Award from the RCVS for Client Service, with one of the highest scores they have ever awarded.

We understand that providing outstanding veterinary care should be affordable so that all pet owners have access to the best care for their pets. We are the only practice in the area to offer a price match service and aim to provide a competitively tailored service for every pet based on their individual circumstances.

We believe that good communication underpins every aspect of veterinary care. From chatting to you in the waiting room to giving post-operative advice and talking though bills and estimates – we think that you deserve our time. At Alsager Vet Centre, our aim is to nurture a culture of communication and we hope that as valued clients you feel happy to talk to us about any worries or concerns, no matter how small.

We love to get involved – being a local community vet is central to our ethos. We regularly participate in all pet related aspects in the local community, from organising the Alsager Fun Dog show, to cake sales and completing tough mudders to raise money for local animal charities.

Dog Shows

As part of our continued commitment to charitable causes, we run a Dogshow Roadshow. The Roadshow is available, free of charge, for local charities, community groups, schools and associations, and is a great way of raising funds.

We will:

  • Provide and set up a booking-in tent, complete with table and chairs
  • Provide and set up a dog show ring
  • Provide and set up a public address system – no electricity needed
  • Produce rosettes for each class, branded with your organisation’s logo and our logo
  • Give you goody bags for each class winner
  • Produce flyers for your event
  • Provide publicity in our magazine, newsletter, websites and social media pages.

We are limited to 20 roadshows per year on a first come, first served basis and subject to our availability.

School/Nursery Visits

Our school and nursery visits are fun-filled events and great for getting children interested in all things pet related. We can tailor our visits to your requirements or arrange interactive activities where we can get the children to find the microchip on our toy dog, or bandage his leg. We can show them ‘interesting’ things in jars – if they’re not squeamish and let them look at x-rays (you wouldn’t believe what dogs swallow), and even dress up as a vet.

We have worksheets for various abilities and ages and every child gets a sticker. Teachers will find that they are able to do a lot of follow up work and creative play following a visit from a vet. If you want to set up a ‘play’ vet clinic in the school or nursery following our visit we usually have some posters and veterinary materials to hand to help it look more realistic.

Careers Fairs

A career in the veterinary industry can be an extremely rewarding, but demanding role. Our presence at School/College careers fairs can be a great way to educate those interested in the veterinary care all about the highs and the lows. We can talk to students about the various job roles at a veterinary practice, from Kennel Nurse right through to Vet, the work entailed, likely pay, qualifications and training needed.
